Natural Childbirth Preparation $300 for the 6 week series
Enrolling in a childbirth education class is mandatory for birth center families unless the birthing person has previously given birth without the use of any medication. Giving birth outside of a hospital setting requires months of preparation, families should be signed up for a class series by the end of the second trimester.
Midtown Nurse Midwives offers a comprehensive natural childbirth education series taught by our RNs and Nurse Midwives on an ongoing basis. This group class is a great way to get to know other expectant parents.
This is an IN PERSON course with limited space. Due to this we limit the class to our birth center families only. Please click on “Online Childbirth Preparation Class” if you are unable to attend in person or if you are not enrolled in care at our birth center but would still like to take our class.
Newborn Care Class $100 for a 1 hour one one class with an RN
Families are discharged form our birth center three hours after birth, this class empowers new parents to take care of a very young newborn including how to recognize problems. This class is mandatory for all first time parents, even if one parent has had a child previously. This class is included in our childbirth preparation group series or can be taken one on one with an RN.
Breastfeeding Class $100 for a 1 hour class one on one class with an IBCLC
This class is mandatory for all first time parents and strongly encouraged for those who have had breastfeeding issues in the past. You will meet one on one with an RN lactation consultant to go over your specific situation and teach you how to avoid feeding issues.
