Our midwives love their jobs.
Midtown Nurse Midwives is a home-grown, woman-owned, small business. Our purpose is to fill the gap in care in our community. We created the region’s only breastfeeding medicine specialty clinic and provide women’s healthcare in an alternative setting. We are opening a freestanding birth center to provide an alternative to hospital and home birth.
Bethany C. Sasaki, WHNP-BC, CNM, IBCLC
Founder & Director
Bethany has been a Registered Nurse since 2000 with experience in pediatrics, emergency/trauma, women’s health and labor and delivery. In 2010 she opened a small lactation business to help fill the gap in care for mothers and babies in our community. This small business soon grew into a group practice to meet demand. Bethany returned to graduate school and became a Nurse Practitioner when she identified the need to add primary healthcare elements to her practice like prescribing medications, diagnosing and treating post-partum depression and treating infant tongue tie. In 2015 she opened the MiLC Clinic to offer women’s health care in an alternative, woman-centered model. In 2019 she expanded her company further to open a freestanding birth center in order to provide fully comprehensive care.
Bethany’s style is low-intervention, straight forward and thorough. She provides guidance but always encourages women to make their own decisions. She is especially interesteded in treatment of breast pain and breast infections. She has published research on breast infections and continues to gather data for future studies.
